Mini Mathur Speaks Out on Shefali Jariwala’s Supplements use: ‘Consult a Doctor Before Use

Mini Mathur has responded to the escalating worries regarding self-medication and unmonitored supplement use in the industry as rumours abound regarding the unexpected death of Shefali Jariwala, the star of Kaanta Laga. Mini did not directly address the cause of Shefali’s death, but she did discuss the general trend of celebrities taking supplements and how crucial it is to do so under a doctor’s supervision.

“I am not qualified to talk about this,” Mini stated candidly in an interview. I don’t know what her reports stated, and I don’t trust anything I read online. She emphasised that it is unjust to make assumptions about someone’s death unless confirmed by a medical professional. Mini added that the supplements Shefali was reportedly using, such as glutathione- are not uncommon, but the lack of medical oversight is where the danger lies.

Mini shared that she herself is extremely cautious about what enters her body, going to the extent of double-checking if every injection or drip comes from a sealed packet. “There is nothing wrong with energising drips or health supplements, but you must do it under supervision,” she stressed. “No one here is a doctor, and things can react differently. That’s why I’m paranoid about all this.”

Mini continued by saying that while the supplements Shefali was allegedly taking, like glutathione, are not unusual, the risk is in the absence of medical supervision. Mini revealed that she is very careful about what she puts into her body, even making sure that each injection or drip comes from a sealed container. “Energising drips and health supplements are perfectly acceptable, but you must use them under supervision,” she emphasised. “Things can react differently, and nobody here is a doctor.” I’m paranoid about all of this because of it.

At 42, Shefali Jariwala died on June 27. Her cause of death has not yet been formally confirmed, although preliminary reports suggest cardiac arrest. When Mumbai Police sent her body for a post-mortem, they later claimed that the cause of death had been “reversed,” which added to the mystery.

For many in the industry, Mini’s comments serve as a reminder to prioritise health and safety over aesthetic shortcuts.
