Saif Ali Khan Housebreaking Case: Accused’s Left-Hand Fingerprints, Face Match CCTV Footage, Says Prosecution Opposing Bail

In a strong opposition to the bail plea of Shariful Islam, the 30-year-old Bangladeshi national accused of housebreaking and assaulting actor Saif Ali Khan, the prosecution on Thursday told the court that crucial forensic and surveillance evidence directly linked the accused to the crime scene.

The prosecution stated that Islam’s left-hand fingerprints were recovered from Khan’s residence, and his face matched the image captured in the CCTV footage from the time of the incident.

Arguing against his release, the prosecution warned that Shariful Islam poses a serious flight risk. “If the applicant-accused is released on bail, there is a likelihood that he may flee to Bangladesh and influence key witnesses,” the prosecution submitted, adding, “The possibility of him repeatedly committing such crimes cannot be ruled out.”

Islam remains in judicial custody as the court considers the gravity of the charges, including unlawful entry, theft, and assault on a high-profile public figure.
