A major financial fraud has rocked Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt’s inner circle, as her former employee Vedika Prakash Shetty (32) has been arrested for allegedly cheating the actress of nearly ₹77 lakh.
The Juhu police, who had been on the lookout for Shetty, confirmed her arrest in connection with financial irregularities amounting to ₹76.9 lakh. The fraud was committed over a span of two years — between May 2022 and August 2024 — through Alia Bhatt’s production banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd, as well as her personal accounts.

The matter surfaced after Bhatt’s mother, veteran actor-director Soni Razdan, filed a formal complaint with Juhu police on January 23. Following this, a case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for criminal breach of trust and cheating. The investigation revealed systematic siphoning of funds under Shetty’s watch.
Police sources have stated that the accused was in a position of trust and had access to financial operations. Further inquiries are underway to determine the full extent of the fraud and trace any accomplices, if involved.
Alia Bhatt or her representatives are yet to issue an official statement.
