Talaash: The Answer Lies Within is a 2012 Hindi-language psychological crime thriller film written and directed by Reema Kagti, co-written by Zoya Akhtar, and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan under Aamir Khan Productions, with Reliance Entertainment as distribution company and broadcaster.
Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Rani Mukerji appear in the film, which also has Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rajkummar Rao, and Shernaz Patel in supporting parts. Ram Sampath scored the film’s score and soundtrack, and Javed Akhtar wrote the film’s lyrics. The film’s principal photography took place in Mumbai, Pondicherry, and London from March to November 2011.
On November 30, 2012, the film was released. Talaash: The Answer Lies Within was one of the highest-grossing Indian films in 2012, generating over Rupees 174.21 crore (US$23 million) globally. The film’s primary photography began in Mumbai in March 2011 with Khan and Mukerji. It was claimed that Khan and Kapoor would film a sequence together in a red-light area.
Ram Sampath composed the soundtrack, and Javed Akhtar wrote the words for all of the songs. T-Series released the music on October 19, 2012.
