Preity Zinta mourns Shane Warne’s demise, says ‘he was a magician on the field’

Australian cricketer Shane Warne left for heavenly abode on Friday, March 4, in Thailand. He was known as the greatest leg-spinner of all time. He was 52. The sad news sent shockwaves worldwide. Several Bollywood celebrities also mourned his untimely demise. Actress Preity Zinta, who is also the co-owner of the Punjab Kings IPL team also mourned Warner’s demise on social media on Saturday, March 5.

Preity Zinta took to her official Instagram handle and posted throwback photos with Shane in which they are seen smiling happily. Sharing the picture, the actress wrote, “So sad to hear that Shane Warne is no more. He was a magician on the field & such a charismatic & flamboyant personality off the field. I learnt so much about cricket from him every time I met him during the IPL & laughed a lot. He was an inspiration to so many all over the world. My heartfelt condolences to his family. R.I.P my friend. You will be missed. #Legend #RIP #Gonetoosoon.”

Shane Warne’s management had released an official statement about his demise on Friday, March 4. It read, “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.” The statement further added, “The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”

His career spanned over 15 years from 1992 to 2007, and he picked up 708 wickets in 145 Test matches.
