Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani Trailer : An Intensified Karan Johar Universe Promising An OG Dramedy With A Big Switch

Ever since Karan Johar announced that he would come back into direction and announced Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, all the Dharma fans especially from the early 00s were waiting in anticipation. The film’s teaser was announced on 20th June, 2023 and it boasts of an illustrious cast which includes Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The trailer just dropped in and here is what we feel.

1. The Vast Cast : Dharma films, especially helmed by Karan Johar have always had the top Indian actors with a very defined supporting cast and it holds still the same. RARKPK has the lead pair of Indian cinema’s two biggest actors, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead and they are supported by sheer veterans like Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. Coming to the trailer, they all combine to give us a complete experience when we talk of star-power.

1. A Baller Of A Trailer : When we talk about movie trailers and when we remember the good times associated with trailers and their packaging, we are instantly reminded of late 90s and early 00s. This lasted till late 00s where trailers were effective, less drama, more story-telling and innovative ways of quirking the trailers up. The RARKPK trailer reminds us of the same era as it gives us a clear insight on what is about to come. A lot of entertainment!

Karan Johar Universe Bringing Back Dramedies : For all those who have grown up watching Karan Johar films and remember the high voltage dialogues, the songs, the characters, RARKPM would definitely be your go-to movie when it releases. It has the trademark Dharma punches, the dramatic dialogues, godly sets and a musical extravaganza and we are hoping an OG Karan Johar dramedy is on it’s way.

1. The OG Veterans : The superstars of the days gone by, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi reunite to give us a right mix of variety, grey shades and quality acts. Ranveer and Alia are headlining this movie but we would be looking forward for these three actors definitely.

1. The Big Switch : While we have seen this twist in the past, we are intrigued to see what Karan Johar does with it. The cultural exchange between the families of Rocky and Rani along with Ranveer’s funny antics and Alia’s semi-serious vibe promises a lot of entertainment.

The film releases worldwide on 28th July, 2023 in cinemas.
