Akshay Dogra Opens up on Writing Same-Sex Love

Actor Akshay Dogra has written a segment in the show Crimes and Confession. After writing several shows like Shraddha Arya-starrer Dream Girl, Akshay has written a segment in this murder mystery.
His segment Shame Shame stars Shweta Gulati in the lead role and is the story of four women who have an intimate relationship.

Talking about the story revolving around homosexual relationships, what should I name this love? Akshay added that in the end, it doesn’t matter whether it is a man, woman or anyone else, we are all human beings, that’s just the period. Those feelings will always be universal. So ultimately, feelings are completely personal. It is completely human, universal and has no gender.

Akshay Dogra also revealed how he had to use his inner feelings to write the show. He said that I could not go out and talk to anyone about what they felt. Of course, I have gay friends, so I’ve heard them talk. I have heard them express their feelings about what they have done, what they haven’t. So I had that in mind, and then I had to internalize it myself.

Talking about unrequited love and his own experience, Dogra said that I have been with my wife, we have been married for 12 years, but we are together as a couple for almost 18 years and we know each other. So, whatever I have done to him, I have gone through it. So, whatever I have, those experiences and feelings have come in handy. This is what I have used while writing for this web series.

Crime and Confession is an anthology consisting of five different stories set in different eras. The compilation is currently streaming on ALTBalaji.
