Shammi was last seen in Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar, while he breathed his last on 14 August 2011. That is, on this day he had left this world and went far away. Shammi was as happy in films as he was in the real world.
Shammi Kapoor has given more than one evergreen film in Hindi cinema. His father Prithviraj Kapoor was a well-known actor. That’s why he had inherited the art of acting from his family.
Shammi made her Bollywood debut in the year 1953 with the film ‘Jeevan Jyoti’. Famous for his acting and different style, Shammi had gained fame very quickly.
Although thousands of girls used to die on Shammi, Geeta Bali got the right over her heart. Shammi had to roll a lot of papads to marry Geeta.
According to media reports, Shammi Kapoor fell in love with Geeta during the shooting of the film Ranger Raatein and proposed to Geeta. But Geeta refused to marry.
However, after Geeta realized Shammi’s love, she told Shammi that she would marry him now or else she would never be able to get married again. After which both of them went to the temple and got married in August 1955.
After marriage, everything was going well that after 10 years suddenly Geeta Bali passed away. Shammi was broken after Geeta’s death and this started affecting his personal and professional life. Seeing Shammi’s condition, the family asked him to remarry, and he agreed to make Neela Devi his wife.
Although he had placed a condition in front of Neela before marriage. Shammi had told Neela that she would not become a mother after marriage and would take care of her two children like a real mother. Neela accepted this point of Shammi and after marriage, Neela took full care of not only Shammi but also the children.
According to the news, after the death of Geeta Bali, Shammi’s heart fell on actress Mumtaz. Both also wanted to get married, but one condition kept Mumtaz away from Shammi.
When Mumtaz turned 18, Shammi Kapoor proposed marriage to her, but there was also a condition attached to this proposal.
According to the condition that Shammi had placed in front of Mumtaz, after marriage, she would have to leave the film industry according to the tradition of the Kapoor family.
Mumtaz refused to accept this condition due to the responsibilities of her family and the love story of both remained incomplete.
