On the completion of his Golden Jubilee, the Malayalam film industry superstar Mammootty is honoured by the Government of Kerala. On which the Kerala government is getting a lot of criticism.
People believe that legends like Madhu and Adoor Gopalakrishnan should also get this honour, as they also have completed their part.
George Sebastian has raised this issue. Sebastian is also the president of the Democratic Party, an ally of the BJP-led NDA in Kerala.
Apart from this, George also received the National Award for Best Documentary in 1987.
In the ongoing session of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, Saji Cherian, Minister of State for Culture and Films, informed that the state government will honour Mammootty for his achievements.
Sebastian said that everyone knows that the Pinarayi Vijayan government is in a hurry to honour Mammootty. While, there are other living stalwarts like the acclaimed director of the film industry Adoor Gopalakrishnan and actor, director and producer Madhu.
Madhu has acted in more than 400 films in his career.
Sebastian further added that if someone makes the issue of politics behind honouring Mammootty, then no one should be blamed for it.
