Youtuber Prajakta Koli will now be representing India at Google.org. This is a charitable arm by Google. She is also known as Mostly Sane.
Google.org is committing $25 million in grants to non-profits addressing economic inequities faced by women and girls.
Prajakta to join by 28 other women leaders from diverse sectors and geographies.
Artists like Shakira, the first US National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman, athlete Naomi Osaka, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Rigoberta Menchu Tum will also be part of this charitable arm.
Prajakta will be one of the expert panellists who will screen the applicants and help Google.org to make the most informed funding decision.
Prajakta said that It’s an absolute honour to be on a list that features such powerful global female leaders from around the world. She is very grateful to lend to a cause that advances equity for women and girls around the world and creates pathways to prosperity.
Google will give money and support to non-profits with ideas for working toward solving problems.
Each selected organisation will receive around $300,000 and $2 million in funding. Not only this, but they will also get non-monetary support like mentorship from Google. These organisations will be announced in late 2021.
