Famous Tamil actor Suriya’s 2020 film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ has won the Best Film Award at the Indian festival of Melbourne. Suriya also won the Best Performance actor award for his performance in the film.
The movie is somewhat based on the biography of Capt. Gopinath. He is the founding father of Air Deccan.
The announcement was made through the official Twitter handle of the festival. They wrote: “Best Performance Male (feature) congratulations to Suriya Sivakumar for Soorarai Pottru.”
In another tweet, they announced: “Best Film. Congratulations to Soorarai Pottru.”
2D Entertainment had produced the film. This is Suriya’s production banner. Soorarai Pottru is directed by Sudha Kongara.
It was recently announced that the film is going to be remade in Hindi. Sudha Kongara will also direct the Hindi remake of this movie.
Australian minister Danny Pearson congratulated Suriya for the win. Superstar Suriya has replied to his comment and said: “Truly an honour Sir!”.
