The 90s of the Malayalam Cinema is its Golden Period: Vijay Babu

South Indian actor and producer Vijay Babu new film, ‘#Home’ is releasing today. The producer is all set for an Onam release this year.
Vijay Babu stated that Malayalam cinema was known for delivering good family-oriented films in its golden period.
Vijay said that the 90s of Malayalam cinema were its golden period. Many family stories were told. But then, things changed slowly and the cinema has also changed. When he read the script of ‘#Home’, it felt like going back to the 90s and telling real family stories which Malayalam films were always known for.

Rojin Thomas has written and directed the movie, #Home. Rojin marks his second collaboration with Vijay after ‘Philips And The Monkey Pen’.”

Vijay shared that Rojin has a meticulous style of direction and writing. Rojin is a person of detailing. He surprises even the producer even with the minute details.
Rojin tells the story in just 3 minutes. Vijay knows what he will come up with. Even in Monkey Pen, every minute of family detail was given by him. Every detail comes from his life experience.

Besides producing the Movie, Vijay will also play a small part in the film.

The story of this film is very close to Vijay’s heart that he wanted to be part of it on and off camera.
Vijay said that he is playing an extended cameo. Vijay is playing a psychiatrist called Franklin in the film. He was not to be part of the film but this is the only movie where he asked the director that even if it’s only a scene, he wanted to do it. The director has offered Vijay the role of this doctor. He is so happy to do this character.

‘#Home’ is releasing today(August 19) on Amazon Prime Video.
