Actor Priyank Sharma, son of actress Padmini Kolhapure and cousin of Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, says family background does not help any creative person achieve success.
Recently Priyank launched his music label Dhamaka Records. He made his Bollywood debut in 2020 with the film Sab Kushal Mangal, which also starred Akshaye Khanna.
When asked about coming from a family of actors and filmmakers, has helped them find their place in Bollywood, Priyank told, “I feel growing up in a family where everyone is in the creative profession.” Be it music, cinema, film production, I have seen how risky a business it is.
He said I have seen how life changes from Friday to Friday. So from the very beginning, I knew that my family background would not help me get my moment of success and there would be a feeling of uncertainty if I wanted to act professionally.
So, when people talk about nepotism, I wonder if they understand that an artist’s creative development has nothing to do with family background. Rather we have a different pressure.
