Priyanka Chopra is an Indian actress who is best known for her work in Hindi movies. Thamizhan, a Tamil film released in 2002, was her first feature. The next year, she made her Bollywood debut with the spy thriller The Hero. Chopra won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut the same year for her role in the box office success musical Andaaz.
In 2004, she starred in the critically acclaimed comedy Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and received critical praise for her breakout role in the thriller Aitraaz, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role and received a second nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 2005, Chopra appeared in six films, including Waqt and Bluffmaster! She starred in two of the year’s highest-grossing films, Krrish, a superhero flick, and Don, an action thriller.
Chopra starred in a number of critically and commercially unsuccessful films in 2007 and 2008, including the ensemble drama Salaam-e-Ishq, the science fiction romance Love Story 2050, and the superhero fantasy Drona.
Chopra also participated in the comedy-drama Dil Dhadakne Do in 2015, and she earned the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Kashibai in the epic historical drama Bajirao Mastani, which went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Since then, Chopra has been in a number of Hollywood films, including Baywatch (2017), A Kid Like Jake (2018), and Isn’t It Romantic? (2019). In 2020, she starred in the Netflix superhero film We Can Be Heroes, which has been seen in 53 million households in its first four weeks.
