Yash Raj Films (commonly known as YRF) is a Hindi and Punjabi film production and distribution company based in India. YRF is one of the country’s most successful production companies. It has turned the common man into superstars. YRF was founded in 1970 by late filmmaker Yash Chopra. Yash Chopra began his career as an assistant to his elder brother, B.R. Chopra, and then went on to direct five films for B.R. Films, his brother’s production company.
From production to post-production, domestic and international distribution, music, home entertainment, marketing, design, digital, licensing, merchandising, talent management, brand alliances, and in-house music and film studios, YRF controls practically every aspect of the value chain. Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Amravati, Indore, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, and Kochi are among YRF’s distribution offices throughout India. With a range of over 75 movies, it is tough to collect Yash Raj Films’ top 20 hits. There have been innumerable hits, superhits, and blockbusters produced by the production firm from the time Yash Chopra began creating movies to the empire that has been established by his son Aditya Chopra. Chandni, starring Sridevi, was YRF’s sole commercial success in 1980. YRF made a bigger number of films in 2000.
Gadhvi’s action thrillers Dhoom (2004) and Dhoom 2 (2006), Ali’s comedy Bunty Aur Babli (2006), and Kohli’s romantic thriller Fanaa (2006) were among the company’s top-grossing films during that decade. Aditya Chopra’s dramas Mohabbatein (2000) and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), as well as Yash Chopra’s romance Veer-Zaara (2004).
The firm began introducing new actors in 2008, including Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, and Ranveer Singh. Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, and Arjun Kapoor are among the company’s most frequent collaborations.
