Monica Bedi and Abu Salem’s love story seemed to be straight out of a movie script. It was never meant to be a love story between the thug and the aspiring actress. Emotion, romance, love, betrayal, criminality, bloodshed, and incarceration were all present in the romantic partnership. And it will always be remembered as one of the most talked-about romances in history.
Monica Bedi first met Abu Salem in 1998 at a concert in Dubai. He allegedly introduced himself to her under a new name and a different occupation. According to sources, sparks soared and the two stayed in touch over the phone even after she returned to Mumbai.
Monica Bedi revealed in an interview with Filmfare that Abu used to phone her every half hour. When she returned to Dubai, Abu revealed his real name was ‘Abu Salem.’ Monica, on the other hand, claims to have never met the man behind the identity. She claimed to have been the happiest after they were imprisoned since she no longer wanted that life.
