How is the movie Rocky (1981)?

Sunil Dutt directed Rocky, a romantic action film from Bollywood released in 1981. Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Dutt’s son, makes his acting debut in this film, which also features Reena Roy, Tina Munim, Amjad Khan, Raakhee, Ranjeet, Shakti Kapoor, and Aruna Irani. Sunil Dutt also makes a guest appearance. Aruna Irani was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress, the film’s only nomination.

Sanjay Dutt and Reena Roy battle against Shakti Kapoor and Tina Munim in a dance competition to the classic song “Aa Dekhe Zara,” which Shammi Kapoor plays. Sunil’s wife and Sanjay’s mother, Nargis, died only a few days before the film’s debut. It was the tenth highest-grossing movie of 1981.


The film’s music was composed by R. D. Burman, while the lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi, and the songs have remained popular to this day. R.D. Burman’s Bengali number ‘Eki Bhalobasha’ and Amit Kumar’s song ‘Jeona Jeona,’ both created by R.D. Burman, were both inspirations for ‘Kya Yehi Pyar Hai.’ Hits included ‘Aa Dekhe Zara,’ ‘Hum Tumse Mile,’ and ‘Kya Yahi Pyar Hai.’ Rocky has a Telugu adaptation (1987).

Shankar (Sunil Dutt) is a well-educated young guy who works for Ratanlal in the construction industry (Anwar Hussain). Shankar is also a union representative who wants Ratanlal to enforce workplace safety standards.
