Top 5 Zombie movies

When it comes to a list of the most important taboos in Western culture, death might not cut. However, it should: North Americans and Europeans have a strong aversion to dying. We believe that if we stick to the perfect gym routine, eat plenty of kale, and take the right pricey supplements, we may live indefinitely. Here is the list.

1. “Rabid” (David Cronenberg, 1977: ‘What a difficult assignment it is to choose between ‘Shivers’ and “Rabid’ as a Cronenberg title for a Best Zombie Films list. Cronenberg’s early Canadian B-movie creepers are both excellent – it’s difficult not to consider ‘Shivers,’ which takes place entirely in a luxury condominium, as a precursor to the consumerist nightmare of ‘Dawn of the Dead,’ – but “Rabid” is the more polished effort.

2. “REC” (Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, 2008): This claustrophobic Spanish found-footage attempt gave a fresh sense of claustrophobia and fear to the zombie genre before the shot-for-shot American adaptation ‘Quarantine.’

3. “Dawn of the Dead” (George A. Romero, 1978): This claustrophobic Spanish found-footage attempt gave a fresh sense of claustrophobia and fear to the zombie genre before the shot-for-shot American adaptation ‘Quarantine.’

4. “I Walked With a Zombie” (Jacques Tourneur, 1943): ‘The wealthy plantation owner adds, ‘There is no beauty here, only death and ruin.’ “Everything nice dies here… Even the stars,’ says the narrator. Val Lewton, the master of horror at RKO, was on fire when he created this parody on the origins of zombie fiction in voodoo tradition.

5. “Re-Animator” (Stuart Gordon, 1985): Stuart Gordon’s perennial campy gore-fest classic is one of the most beloved horror movies ever for a reason: it’s based on H.P. Lovecraft’s 1922 short story ‘Herbert West–Reanimator.’ Imagine the staff of Mad Magazine directing Romero’s ‘Night of the Living Dead.’
