The covid pandemic is gradually coming to an end, and we should be able to see our favorite films that have been postponed due to the pandemic by next year. As a film buff, I look forward to seeing my favorite actors at premieres. Have you ever gazed at red-carpet images, or perhaps applauded from behind the barriers, and wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a movie premiere? Now you don’t have to wonder any longer. I’ve been to a handful and can give you some insight into what to expect. Ultimately, no matter how glamorous the red carpet, celebrities, and camera flashes are, you’re still going to the movies.
Premieres normally have a smart dress requirement, so you must professionally present yourself. However, you are not a celebrity and do not like to appear overdressed. After all, the paparazzi aren’t there to photograph you. Add in hair and makeup for the females, and you’ve got a headache.
You get excited every time you step onto the red carpet, no matter how stylish you attempt to be. You have more swagger than normal, take a lot of selfies, and extend your neck to greet superstars. But don’t get too carried away; security may ask you to leave the red carpet at some point.
You’ll be sitting in the theatre watching the red carpet live feed while the celebs sign autographs and answer questions from the press outside. But have no fear: the cast will nearly always be on stage to introduce the film. So, if you missed them on the red carpet, you’ll be able to watch them in the theatre.
Expect nothing too extravagant; after-parties are usually strictly invitation-only affairs. GO to the after-party if you know the appropriate folks and are invited. Even if it’s beyond midnight. Even if you commit the next day. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet new people.
