What is the story of the film Arizona?

Arizona is a dark comedy film. Danny McBride and Rosemarie DeWitt portrayed the lead roles. Danny McBride has one of those quirky faces that can make me laugh out loud in a matter of seconds. The plot is simple to understand, it’s dark and funny, and it’s a lot of fun.

On January 20, 2018, it premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, and RLJE Films released it in theatres and on video on demand on August 24, 2018. Cassie Fowler, a divorced realtor, lives in Harding, Arizona with her 14-year-old daughter Morgan in 2009, during the real estate housing crisis.

Gary, Cassie’s abrasive supervisor, mocks her one morning. While Cassie is on the phone with a debt collector about her own home’s possible foreclosure, a client called Sonny walks into the office, upset at Gary because the house he sold is losing value. The dispute escalates into a violent altercation, culminating in Gary’s death by being pushed over a precipice. Sonny then spots Cassie and tries to persuade her not to contact the cops before knocking her out and dragging her to his residence.

Cassie and Morgan are chased back inside the darkened house by Sonny. Morgan puts a flashlight in Sonny’s face just as he’s ready to shoot Cassie, allowing Cassie to stab him with a pair of gardening shears. Sonny chases them down and catches Cassie at the unfinished basement entrance. Cassie pushes him in after a brief struggle, and Sonny dies as a result of the fall. As the numerous fires spread, Cassie and Morgan walk out of the development, blazing.
