Prashanth Neel’s next Kannada-language historical drama action film K.G.F: Chapter 2 is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the label of Hombale Films. It is a sequel to the 2018 film K.G.F: Chapter 1 and is the second half of a two-part series. Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, and Prakash Raj feature in the film.
With Bhuvan Gowda handling the cinematography and Ravi Basrur scoring the music for the soundtrack and the film’s background, Neel kept the same crew as its predecessor. With a budget of Rs. 100 crore, it is the most costly Kannada film. The film will be released in Kannada, as well as dubbed versions of Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam languages, on April 14, 2022.
After the release of Ugramm (2014), Prashanth Neel began working on this film’s screenplay, and production began in early 2015. However, because the story is told in a non-linear style, he chose to split the picture into two parts. The decision to split the film into two parts was also based on business considerations.
Before the December 2018 release of its predecessor, the filmmakers shot 20% of the sequel, and the team worked double shifts until January 2019. On January 4th, it was stated that 15 percent of the filming had been done and that the production would resume in the summer of 2019. K.G.F: Chapter 2 began filming on March 13, 2019, in Hyderabad, with a formal puja ceremony. Yash revealed that he will only join the sets in June 2019 after an initial round of filming near Bangalore in May 2019.
