Pictures (DCEU).

Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Michael Rooker, Jai Courtney, Peter Capaldi, Alice Braga, and Pete Davidson star in the film, which was written and directed by James Gunn.

By March 2016, David Ayer was set to return as director for a Suicide Squad sequel, but he instead chose to make a Gotham City Sirens film. Before hiring Gavin O’Connor in September 2017, Warner Bros. considered a number of replacement directors.

However, it was a box office flop, generating $167.4 million worldwide against a $185 million production budget, but it would appeal to a bigger audience through home media sales. In January 2022, HBO Max will premiere Peacemaker, a spin-off television series featuring Cena.
