The film has been dubbed a ‘semi-biographical portrayal of Davidson’s life, as his father was a New York City firefighter who died in the line of duty during the September 11 attacks and who has battled mental illness himself.

On June 25, 2020, the picture was released in Dutch cinemas, France on July 22, Germany on July 30, and Spain on July 31. In Australia, the picture grossed $253,000 from 160 cinemas and $59,000 in New Zealand.
