House of Gucci is a 2021 Hollywood factual crime drama movie directed by Ridley Scott, based on the 2001 book ‘The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden. The movie follows Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci, as their romance converts into a fight for control of the Italian fashion brand Gucci. After gaining the rights to Forden’s book in the early 2000s, Scott decided to develop a movie on the Gucci dynasty. Before Scott and Gaga became formally affiliated in November 2019, the project sat dormant for several years, with a number of directors and speculated actors being considered. The rest of the cast joined the next summer, and production began in Italy in February 2021, running until May 2021.

United Artists Releasing released it in theatres on November 24, 2021, in the United States. Critics gave the picture mixed reviews, praising the actors’ performances but criticizing the writing and uneven tone.
