Benjamin Géza Affleck-Boldt, known as Ben Affleck is an American actor, film director, producer, and screenwriter, who was born on August 15, 1972. Affleck played a role of a reverse engineer in the science fiction thriller Paycheck (2003). Paycheck is a science fiction action movie based on a writer Philip K. Dick’s 1953 short tale of the same name. Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman, Aaron Eckhart, Paul Giamatti, Michael C. Hall, Joe Morton, and Colm Feore featured in John Woo’s film.

The film received mixed reviews when it was released on December 25, 2003, in North America by Paramount Pictures and internationally by DreamWorks Pictures, but it gained monetary success, grossing $117.3 million at the box office.

The short tale was optioned by Caravan Pictures in 1996, and the film began production in 1997. Brett Ratner was in talks to direct before John Woo. The character of Michael Jennings was offered to Matt Damon, but he declined the role. Two Mexican standoffs, the sight of a dove, and a birdcage similar to the one seen in filmmaker Woo’s 1992 film Hard Boiled are all included in the film. For their roles in Paycheck, Gigli, and Daredevil, Ben Affleck received a Golden Raspberry Award.
