Dil Bechara is Sushant Singh Rajput‘s last film, directed by Mukesh Chhabra. It’s the Hindi adaption of John Green’s bestselling novel The Fault in Our Stars. The film adaptation of the same-named novel was a major hit in the United Kingdom. Apart from the actors’ performances, the film’s music is immensely popular with the public. AR Rahman composed all of the songs. Before the film’s release, Rahman held an online performance with all of the vocalists who contributed to the film’s songs. Swastika Mukherjee and Saswata Chatterjee are among the cast members.
Shashank Khaitan and Suprotim Sengupta wrote the story for this film, which was produced by Fox Star Studios. Following his death on June 14, 2020, Rajput’s final and posthumous appearance was in this film. Apart from the last scene, which was shot in Paris, France, the film was shot in Jamshedpur and Ranchi with irregular dates in Mumbai.
Post-production delays, as well as the COVID-19 outbreak, hampered the theatrical release. Rajput’s death on 14 June 2020 added to the mix, resulting in a digital release on the Disney+ Hotstar streaming service on July 24.
In honor of Rajput, it was made available on the site without charge in India and a few other nations. The film garnered mostly positive reviews from critics, who appreciated the running duration, Rajput and Sanghi’s performances, the story, characterizations, soundtrack, coherence, and storyline, but criticized the emotional depth and directing.
