At the prestigious Movified Digital Awards 2025, Girls Will Be Girls took home the honour for Best Independent Film, marking a significant achievement for Indian independent cinema. Produced by actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, the coming-of-age drama has been widely praised for its bold storytelling, fresh perspective, and strong feminist voice.
The film, which also premiered at several acclaimed international film festivals earlier this year, continues to earn recognition for its nuanced narrative and authentic portrayal of adolescent girlhood in small-town India. Its win at the Movified Digital Awards further cements its place as one of the standout indie projects of the year.
Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, who have long championed meaningful, unconventional cinema through their production banner, expressed gratitude for the honour and reiterated their commitment to supporting bold, original voices in Indian film.
