How is the film Replacement Killers?

Chow Yun-fat, Mira Sorvino, Michael Rooker, and Kenneth Tsang star in The Replacement Killers, a 1998 American action film directed by Antoine Fuqua in his feature film directorial debut. On February 6, 1998, the picture was released in the United States. Ken Sanzel wrote the screenplay that inspired the storyline. The action sequences were co-produced and choreographed by veteran action filmmaker John Woo.

The story follows an emotionally disillusioned assassin who is forced to settle brutal revenge for a vicious crime boss in modern-day Los Angeles. Chow makes his American acting debut in this picture, having previously solely appeared in Hong Kong action films.

Replacement Killers

The film was a collaboration between Columbia Pictures, Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, and WCG Entertainment Productions motion picture companies. Assassination, violence, and the effect of triads in modern society are all explored in The Replacement Killers. Harry Gregson-Williams composed the film score, and the Varèse Sarabande music label published the album on March 10, 1998.

On February 6, 1998, The Replacement Killers opened in cinemas across the United States, generating $19.2 million in US ticket sales on a $30 million budget. During its largest theatrical distribution, the picture was shown in 1,936 theatres.

The picture came in second place in the United States on its opening weekend on February 6, 1998, grossing $8,046,553 at 1,936 sites. Titanic was the top-earning film that weekend, grossing 23,027,838 dollars. It earned $4,068,335 in its second week of release, a loss of 49 percent. The film had fallen to sixth place for that weekend, although it was still showing in 1,936 theatres.
