How much money did Saw III make?

Darren Lynn Bousman directed Saw III in 2006, based on a screenplay by Leigh Whannell and a story by Whannell and James Wan. It’s the third installment in the Saw movie franchise. Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Angus Macfadyen, Bahar Soomekh, and Dina Meyer star in the movie. Jeff, a dad whose son was killed by a drunk driver, is put through a series of tests by Jigsaw in order to help him overcome his hatred for his son’s killer. Meanwhile, a bedridden John Kramer has Amanda Young kidnap Dr. Lynn Denlon, who has been tasked with keeping John alive for one last test before he dies.

Saw III

Lionsgate released Saw III in the United States on October 27, 2006. It was a financial triumph, making $80.2 million in the United States and Canada after debuting at $33.6 million. It is the series’ highest-grossing movie in the international market, with $84.6 million, and the series’ highest-grossing movie overall, with $164.9 million.

Critics have given it mediocre to poor reviews. At the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, Bell was nominated for ‘Best Villain,’ and the film was nominated for a Saturn Award for ‘Best Horror Film.’ The movie was released on DVD and Blu-ray on January 23, 2007, and it topped the charts in its first week, selling 2.5 million units. Saw IV, the sequel, was published in 2007.
