What happened to Asif Basra?

On November 12, 2020, Asif Basra was found hanging in a private compound in McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The matter is being investigated by the police and a forensic team as of May 25, 2021.

Asif Basra, an Indian actor who appeared in Bollywood films and television serials, was born on July 27, 1967. He is well recognized in the West for his performance in the film Outsourced. Basra was born in Amravati, Maharashtra, India, on July 27, 1967. He came to Mumbai in 1989, where he studied at Mumbai University and performed in student musicals. During his college years, he was frequently recognized for the characters he performed. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics.

He appeared in the critically acclaimed films Black Friday by Anurag Kashyap and Parzania by Rahul Dholakia. He starred alongside legendary performers Omar Sharif and Peter O’Toole in Michael O. Sajbeland’s One Night with the King. He portrayed a tailor in the Hindi film Lamhaa, and he played Shoaib’s (Emraan Hashmi) father in Bollywood’s top-grossing film Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai in 2010.

Basra starred in two online series in 2020: Paatal Lok on Amazon Prime and Hostages on Hotstar. He appeared in films in Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, and Malayalam. He most recently appeared in the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s online series The Family Man, which premiered on June 4, 2021.
