Tim Burton is deservedly regarded as one of the most famous directors of all time – or at the very least, one whose films have a distinct hallmark aesthetic that audiences either adore or despise. But it is precisely this that distinguishes Burton as a genius.
1. Alice in Wonderland ($1025 million-2010):

It follows the grown-up Alice Kingsleigh (Mia Wasikowska) as she returns to Wonderland to fulfill a prophecy by defeating the Red Queen’s beast Jabberwocky.
2. Charlie And The Chocolate Factory ($475 million-2005):

Based on Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel, it follows the story of a young boy named Charlie who gets a golden ticket to an eccentric man named Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.
3. Batman ($412 million-1989):

Batman was a major breakthrough for Burton and is widely regarded as one of the greatest superhero films ever made. It became an instant classic after being a critical and economic triumph (earning $412 million on a $35 million budget).
4. Planet of The Apes ($362 million-2001):

Despite being moderately economically successful (on a budget of $100 million, it earned $362 million), Burton’s Planet of the Apes stands out as one of his poorest films. It didn’t go down well with the public, and the studio decided to reboot it.
5. Dumbo ($353 million-2019):

Dumbo, Burton’s most recent film, is one of numerous Disney live-action remakes of the studio’s famous animated films. Critics gave it mixed reviews, and the movie made $353 million on a $170 million budget.
