What is the name of the Hollywood actor who portrayed Jesus Christ?

James Patrick Caviezel Jr., an American movie and television actor, was born on September 26, 1968. He is best known for his depiction of Jesus Christ in The Passion of the Christ (2004) and for playing John Reese on the CBS series Person of Interest (2011–2016).

G.I. Jane (1997), Private Witt in The Thin Red Line (1998), Detective John Sullivan in Frequency (2000), Edmond Dantès in The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), Willard Hobbes in Escape Plan (2013), and Bob Ladouceur in When the Game Stands Tall (2014) are just a few of his other famous performances.

Caviezel is the son of Margaret (née Lavery), a homemaker and former stage actress, and James Caviezel, a chiropractor, and was born in Mount Vernon, Washington. Timothy is his younger brother, and Ann, Amy, and Erin are his three sisters. In Conway, Washington, he grew up in a close-knit Catholic household. Romansh is his surname. His mother is Irish, and his father is of Slovak and Swiss ancestry.

The Passion of the Christ

Caviezel was supposed to play Scott Summers/Cyclops in X-Men (2000), but he had to withdraw out due to a schedule clash with the film Frequency (2000). Pay It Forward (2000), The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), and Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius was among his mainstream features (2004). He starred in Madison, a film about hydroplane racing in Madison, Indiana, in 2000.

Caviezel is a passionate follower of the Catholic faith. Caviezel discussed the importance of his Catholic religion, the lasting impact of The Passion of the Christ on his life, and his devotion to the Virgin Mary in a 2017 interview. He received daily advice, Confession, and Holy Communion from a local Catholic priest with an interpreter while filming The Passion of the Christ in Italy.
