Who is the oldest living Hollywood actor?

Marsha Hunt is the oldest living celebrity in Hollywood. According to the Los Angeles Times, Hunt began working in Hollywood when she was 17 years old. She was born in 1917 and began performing when she was a toddler.

She is the world’s oldest living actress and one of the last remaining stars from Hollywood’s Golden Age. She is also the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ oldest living member, at the age of 104. During McCarthyism in the 1950s, she was placed on a blacklist by Hollywood studio executives.

Born to the West (1937), Pride and Prejudice (1940), Kid Glove Killer (1942), Cry ‘Havoc’ (1943), The Human Comedy (1943), Raw Deal (1948), The Happy Time (1952), and Johnny Got His Gun (1971) are just a few of her well-known films.

She became involved in the humanitarian cause of world hunger during the blacklist era, and in later years, she has aided homeless shelters, advocated same-sex marriage, raised climate change awareness, and promoted peace in Third World countries. Hunt was invited to join the Screen Actors Guild’s board of directors in 1945. Hunt and her husband, screenwriter Robert Presnell Jr., joined the Committee for the First Amendment in 1947 after being disturbed by the operations of the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC).
