“No, not really,” Kajol responded candidly. “Mujhe apni maa par bohot bharosa hai, mujhe apne bhagwaan par bohot bharosa hai. Agar mujhse galti ho jaati hai, mujhe malum hai ki mere maafi maange bina bhi mujhe maaf kar denge. My God loves me… my God loves me like my mother loves me.”

When asked if her mother had ever forgiven her for making mistakes, Kajol smiled and shared, “Bohut baar. Baad mein baith kar samjhaaya hai, ‘Beta ye sahi nahi tha.’ Toh maine tab zaroor maafi maangi hai.”

“Meri maa ne mujhe bachpan mein sikhaya tha ki bhagwaan har jagah hote hain. Aur Bhagwaan aapko turant maaf kar dete hain jab aap maafi maangte ho. That’s what develops your conscience — the ability to realise you’ve made a mistake, to feel that remorse, and to seek forgiveness.”
