Thrissur Pooram is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language action-thriller movie directed by Rajesh Mohan, featuring Jayasurya and Swathi Reddy, with Sabumon Abdusamad, Vijay Babu, Sudev Nair, T.G. Ravi, Sreejith Ravi, Manikuttan, Indrans, Sudheer Karamana, Sadiq, Valsala Menon, and Mallika Sukumaran in supportive roles. The film’s background soundtrack and songs were composed by Ratheesh Vegha.
In the city of Thrissur, the film recounts the story of young ex-goon Pullu Giri. Ratheesh Vegha wrote and composed the soundtrack for the film. Vijay Babu produced the film, which was released on December 20, 2019, under the brand of Friday Film House.
After partnering on Aadu and Aadu 2, actor Jayasurya and producer Vijay Babu of Friday Film House was intended to collaborate on a lot more films, and this was billed as a big project in their lineup. The film was marketed as a family film, and it was reported that it would be divided into multiple parts, each titled after different stages of the program, such as Kodiyettam and Vedikettu.
It was billed as an attempt to make a different kind of mass cinema while paying homage to the genre. It was also stated that it contained all of the necessary ingredients for an entertainer. Thrissur, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore were used as locations for the film. On July 15, 2019, the shoot officially began.
