Mohit Raina, an Indian actor who works in Hindi cinema and television, was born on August 14, 1982. His acting career began with the science fiction series Antariksh (2004), and he later appeared in Don Muthu Swami (2008).
He is most known for playing the Hindu god Shiva in the television series Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev and Mahabharat, in which he played the major role. Mohit Raina was born into a Kashmiri Brahmin family and raised in Jammu by P.L. Raina and Sushma Kumara, his parents.He attended Jammu’s Kendriya Vidyalaya School and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Jammu. He relocated to Mumbai to pursue a modeling career.
He starred in the Chehra TV series in 2009, a suspense thriller about a crippled girl, the role of her husband has been played by Mohit (a young business tycoon). In 2011, he was cast in Nikhil Sinha’s Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev as the lead. The god Shiva was the subject of the series, which depicted his transformation from hermit to householder through his marriage to Sati and then to Parvati.
He has also played the role of adult emperor Ashoka, in the historical serial Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat that airs on Colors TV.
