Director Jai Mehta said, “For me, music is the ultimate tool to convey my vision, it’s my secret weapon as a filmmaker. With Lootere, I aimed for the music to stand out, not just to support the visuals. We created the scratch tracks before editing even started. The music drove the edit, it was a reversal of the usual process. The only person who could bring this unique style to life was Achint. We’ve been friends since our reckless, aimless teenage years, sharing a deep musical bond.”
“I sent Achint a playlist capturing the series’ mood before he saw the script, then gave him creative freedom. The music shaped the narrative and influenced the script. My trust in Achint is unshakeable, and the rave reviews validated our experimental approach. We decided to turn these tracks into an album, crafted for pure listening pleasure. On creating the music album for Disney+ Hotstar’s Lootere, composer Achint Thakkar said, “The real art comes out when the collaborators put faith in the artist and trust the process. Safe to say, Jai and Hansal sir did just that. They took me through the story and asked me to write it musically for them. I think that truly worked with the audience as they could see the whole story come alive by just listening to a soundtrack. The way the title track of the series broke out, we knew we had to share the rest of the music with the audience and so far, we’re loving the response we’re receiving.
