The Neerja and Aarya director believes that his job isn’t to teach acting but to create an environment where actors can bring their best to the screen. “I can’t make an actor ‘act,’” he states candidly. “They either have it, or they don’t. My responsibility is to guide them, to create a space where they feel safe enough to explore their characters and push their boundaries.”

His method has led to some of the most compelling portrayals in Indian cinema and web series, proving that great direction is about facilitating, not forcing.
