Pan-India superstar Prabhas is all set to explore a quirky new genre with The Raja Saab, a romantic horror-comedy directed by Maruthi. As fans eagerly await updates on this unconventional venture, recent reports suggest the film is eyeing a theatrical release on December 5, 2025 — adding another major date to Prabhas’ packed calendar.
Originally slated for an April release, the film was postponed due to pending VFX work. However, according to sources close to the production, the makers are now confident about wrapping up on time for a grand year-end debut. While an official confirmation is still awaited, buzz around The Raja Saab has already reignited with whispers of a teaser launch expected by end of May 2025.
The film stars Prabhas in the titular role, alongside Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar, with Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt reportedly playing the antagonist. With this project, Prabhas marks his first collaboration with director Maruthi and his first full-fledged foray into the horror-comedy space — a refreshing turn after his mythological and action-heavy roles.
On the work front, Prabhas is not slowing down. His upcoming slate includes Fauji with Hanu Raghavapudi, Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and a special cameo in Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa. Post that, the actor is expected to dive into the much-anticipated Salaar 2 and the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.
