Which is the biggest agency in Hollywood?

Creative Artists Agency LLC (CAA) is a Los Angeles-based talent and sports management company. It is a well-known organization in the talent agency industry, and it manages a large number of clients. CAA has 1,800 employees in March 2016.

In 1975, five agents from the William Morris Agency created the Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Michael Ovitz, Michael S. Rosenfeld, Ronald Meyer, Rowland Perkins, and William Haber agreed to start their agency after having dinner together. William Morris fired the agents before they could secure funding. CAA was incorporated in Delaware and rented a tiny Century City office with a $35,000 line of credit and a $21,000 bank loan.

They sold Rhyme and Reason, the Rich Little Show, and The Jackson 5ive in less than a week. An early proposal was to construct a medium-sized full-service agency, split profits equally, and operate without nameplates on doors, official titles, or individual client lists, with standards such as ‘play well with others” and “answer phone calls quickly.’

Richard Lovett, the president of the CAA, is known for avoiding the media and maintaining a low profile. In 1995, Lovett joined CAA and was regarded as a ‘skillful agent’ with a ‘trademark ever-ready smile’ who was skilled at schmoozing and hobnobbing with colleagues and studio executives. According to The Wall Street Journal, Lovett is ‘elegantly aggressive.’

Agents charge a percentage fee based on the amount of money their clients make; according to one estimate, CAA takes 10% of what its movie and television clients are paid. CAA commissioned architect I. M. Pei to create a new headquarters building in Beverly Hills in the late 1980s at the crossroads of Santa Monica and Wilshire Boulevards.
