Anurag Kashyap : Kennedy

Anurag Kashyap’s police noir ‘Kennedy’ received a phenomenal response at the Cannes Film Festival. The film which was screened at the Midnight Screening section and received a 7 minute standing ovation post the screening. To add to this, the film also closed at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2023 and continued to captivate and win audience’s heart.

Karan Boolani : Thank You For Coming

Filmmaker Karan Boolani made his feature film debut in 2023 with Thank You For Coming. Before its release in India, the film was selected at the 48th Toronto International Film Festival this year and was screened at the festival’s gala night. The film received a phenomenal response and on top also received a standing ovation at the screening. The film’s subject, stellar performances from its lead cast, Karan’s directorial left a lasting impression on the audiences.

Zoya Akhtar : Gully Boy

Even before our country saw the magic that was created in Gully Boy, Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy was premiered at the highlight prestigious Berlin International Film Festival. The film received a thunderous response at the festival and eventually became a big hit in India as well. It continues to be loved across audiences.

Vikramaditya Motwane : Udaan

Vikramaditya Motwane debut feature film Udaan starring Rajat Barmecha and Ronit Roy in the lead was premiered at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival. It was the only entry from India in that year and created a strong word of mouth for the film. Udaan is still regarded as one of the finest films by Vikramaditya which put Indian cinema on a global stage again.
