Sanya Malhotra Try to Help Elephants by Joining Hands with PETA India

Actress Sanya Malhotra is all set to join a new World Elephant Day (August 12) campaign in association with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India. For this, Sanya Malhotra has done a photo shoot.

The star of Netflix’s black comedy ‘Pagglait’, Sanya is looking very good in this. Photographer Taras Taraporewala has shot this tremendous photo for the ad campaign.

The ad shows a horrific ‘cut’ on Malhotra’s face, made with an ankus (a sharp-edged device used to control elephants).

Sanya is asking her fans to “try to relate” to the fate of this animal by never riding an elephant.

Natasha Mathias has done Sanya’s hairstyle and makeup for this ad.

Sanya said that she gets a lot of happiness when she acts or dances on screen. But animals have no such option. Elephants used for ‘joyrides’ and demonstrations are beaten into subjection. Also, they usually never get to see their family again.

Sanya further said that often the two-year-old child of elephants is separated from their mother. Then, they are either tied up between trees with heavy chains and ropes or imprisoned in a tight wooden enclosure called a ‘Karal. Due to this, the elephants have to suffer unbearable pain.

Sanya also said that elephants are forced to break their spirits and obey them. Trainers beat young elephants with sticks and ‘ankus’.
