Two months after the arrest, actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra has been granted bail. The Mumbai court has asked him to pay Rs 50,000 in lieu of the bail.
Last Thursday, the Mumbai Police had filed a 1,400-page charge sheet in court listing charges against Kundra. Post this, his lawyers had requested bail on the basis that the investigation was done and the charge sheet has been filed.
Apart from Kundra, his associate and co-accused Ryan Thorpe, too has been granted bail. Thorpe was arrested along with Kundra on July 19.
The 46-year old businessman Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai police’s crime branch after being booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Hours after the decision was announced, Shilpa Shetty took to her Instagram to share a cryptic post. She had shared a quote by Roger Lee in her stories that read, ‘Rainbows exist to prove that beautiful things can happen after a bad storm’.
Shetty had recently visited the Vaishno Devi shrine along with her close friend. This was after the Ganpati celebrations that the actress celebrated with her mom and children.
