Sooraj R. Barjatya wrote and directed the 1999 Indian Hindi-language family drama film Hum Saath Saath Hain, which was produced and released by Rajshri Productions is said to best family movie. Salman Khan, Sonali Bendre, Mohnish Bahl, Tabu, Saif Ali Khan, and Karisma Kapoor appear in the film, which also starred Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo, Neelam Kothari, and Mahesh Thakur in supporting roles.

The plot revolves around a close-knit family with strong morals and a strong bond, who become estranged following a misunderstanding. Salman Khan’s third film with Rajshri Productions is Hum Saath Saath Hain. The music was composed by Raamlaxman, and the words were written by Dev Kohli. The majority of the filming took done in Mumbai and different sites in Rajasthan.

The film was released on November 5, 1999, and became one of the year’s biggest commercial blockbusters, grossing Rupees 810 million (US$11 million) worldwide. The majority of critics gave it positive reviews. It was also the first Bollywood film to be shown in a theatre in Canada, with six showings in Toronto.

Salman Khan was nominated for Best Actor at the Zee Cine Awards in 2000 for his performance. At the 45th Filmfare Awards, Mohnish Behl was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
