Many celebs in the Hindi film industry have changed their names for one reason or the other. Sometimes because of astrology or sometimes because of religious conversion, they change their name.
Today’s successful actor Rajkumar Rao is one of these stars. Although Rajkumar has not changed his name, but his surname has changed. Recently, he has openly talked about why the actor had to do so.
The real Surname of Rajkumar is not Rao but Yadav. While talking about this in Arbaaz Khan’s chat show Pinch Season 2 Rajkumar said that there are many Rajkumars in the industry.
Due to which there was confusion, so he changed his surname. The actor said, ‘I never used my surname in my early films then there was a lot of confusion because there are many Rajkumars in our industry like Rajkumar Santoshi, Rajkumar Gupta, Rajkumar Hirani Ji.
Even I used to get calls, people asked to assist me. I used to think that I am an actor, why does he want to assist me.
But then I realized that people are confused because the names of the three directors are the same as mine.
My surname is Yadav from Haryana, but then I thought Rajkumar Rao is the title given to Yadavs in Haryana, so I liked being called Rajkumar Rao.
Talking about the work front, in the year 2021, Rajkumar was seen in two films ‘The White Tiger’ with Priyanka Chopra and ‘Roohi’ with Jhanvi Kapoor. Both films were released on the OTT platform Netflix. Now the actor will come in ‘Badhaai Do’ with Bhumi Pednekar.
