Actor Nidhi Bisht has been entertaining audiences with her acting prowess in several projects such as Permanent Roommates, Bisht, Please!, Dream Girl and many more. As she gears up to play a lawyer in the upcoming courtroom comedy series Maamla Legal Hai, the project’s journey is personal for the actor as it fulfills her father’s not one but two wishes.
In Maamla Legal Hai, Nidhi plays the role of a fiesty and sharp lawyer Sujata Negi but not many know that the actor was a practicing lawyer in High Court, before she pursued her dream on entering the film industry.
Although her family supported dream at every step of the way, Nidhi shares that it was her father’s wish that she complete her law education and become a practicing lawyer first. The actor reveals how his second wish comes true with Mamla Legal Hai.
The versatile actor shares, “My family has been my biggest strength in my journey. However, as every parent’s concern, my father also wanted me to complete my education first. So, I did my 5 year law course from Jamia Millia Islamia and then practised for two years in Delhi High Court at a firm”.
Nidhi, further shares the second dream her father had, which comes full circle with Maamla Legal Hai.
“My father had another wish that in my acting career, I must do a role of a lawyer and Sujata Negi is that milestone for me. This makes the show all the more special for me and my family as it completes my father’s both dreams. To see me as a lawyer off screen and onscreen!” says the actor.
Maamla Legal Hai is set against the backdrop of Delhi and the courtroom comedy also stars Ravi Kisan in the leading role. The show will stream on Netflix from 1st of March.
