Don: The Chase Begins Again, often known as Don, is a Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Farhan Akhtar that was released in 2006. Ritesh Sidhwani and Akhtar’s production company Excel Entertainment co-produced the film. Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra feature Don and Roma, respectively, in the film, with Khan playing the eponymous role.
In supporting roles, Arjun Rampal, Isha Koppikar, Boman Irani, Pavan Malhotra, Rajesh Khattar, Om Puri, and Kareena Kapoor appear. Don is a remake of the 1978 film of the same name, and it follows the eponymous criminal’s lookalike who is sent on a secret mission to mimic Don after he is wounded in a chase and infiltrates the drug mafia’s plans.
The picture held up exceptionally well in its second week, performing even better than the week’s new release, with collections increasing in numerous markets and setting new second-week highs. The film grossed nearly Rupees 710 million in India after its theatrical run, making it the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of 2006. It was rated a ‘hit.’
It was also a smash in the overseas markets, grossing over $7.8 million. The picture was a huge commercial success, grossing over Rupees 1.06 billion (US$14 million) worldwide.
