Project X is a 1987 science fiction comedy-drama movie directed by Jonathan Kaplan and starring Matthew Broderick and Helen Hunt. The film was produced by Walter F. Parkes and Lawrence Lasker. The story follows a US Air Force Airman (Broderick) and a doctoral student (Hunt) who are assigned to care for chimps employed in a secret Air Force study.

Lawrence Lasker began pre-production on the film at Warner Bros. The movie was shot in Los Angeles, as well as Camarillo and Van Nuys airports.
