In an exclusive sit-down with Movified Bollywood, the supremely talented actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub shared his candid views on the ongoing language debate that has been stirring up conversations across the country. Known for his grounded opinions and outspoken personality, Zeeshan didn’t hold back when asked about the tension surrounding linguistic preferences and the politics behind it.
When asked what he truly thinks about the ongoing language controversy, Zeeshan called it a “complex issue” but approached it with clarity and compassion. “Koi bhi cheez itni badi nahi hoti ki aap saamne wale ko harm karein. Aur force karna kisi bhi cheez ke liye, voh saari bhashaon par apply hota hai,” he said.
He pointed out that the core issue arises when language is enforced with pressure from both sides. “Ek taraf wale bol rahe hain aap yeh bolo, toh doosri taraf wale bol rahe hain ki aap yeh padho… zabardasti. Kyun bhai?” he asked. According to him, the true purpose of language is communication, and if communication can happen—even through sign language—that should be acceptable.
Zeeshan continued, “Basic taur par communication hona chahiye. Agar main sign language se bhi baat kar paa raha hoon, that should be absolutely fine. Koi aisi baat nahi hai ki mujhe voh cheezein kisi specific tareeke se karni hi padein.”
Using a metaphor, he added, “Agar mujhe ek kitaab padhni hai aur main insist karu ki sirf meri language mein ho toh main hi bevakoof hoon. Kitaab jis language mein likhi hai, usmein ya uske translation mein hi padhni padegi.”
The actor believes the debate is merely the “tip of the iceberg” and that deeper, more serious issues lie beneath—issues connected to power, money, and control. “Ye ek bohut bada issue hai… abhi jo humein dikh raha hai voh sirf upar-upar ka hai. Neeche bohut gandagi hai jisko saaf karne ki zarurat hai.”
He ended the conversation on a hopeful yet realistic note: “Abhi jo chal raha hai voh toh sort ho jayega… agar agendas loose out ho jaayein toh sab ho jaayega. But deeper problems need cleansing.”
