Kajol is making headlines again — not just for her upcoming mythological horror Maa, but also for her no-holds-barred revelations during the film’s promotions. In an exclusive with our team, the actress cleared the air around multiple speculations — from surprise cameos to big career decisions.
Addressing rumours about Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan reprising their Shaitaan characters in Maa, Kajol shut down the buzz with a laugh. “No, no. Kaash aap ne yeh suggestion mujhe pehle diya hota,” she said, cheekily adding that had someone suggested it before the shoot, they might have made it happen. She teased fans with the possibility: “If you like the film, maybe there will be a Maa 2.”
Directed by Vishal Furia and written by Saiwyn Quadras, Maa features Kajol in a hauntingly powerful avatar, with an ensemble cast including Ronit Roy and Indraneil Sengupta. Backed by Ajay Devgn and Jio Studios, the film releases on June 27 in multiple languages.
But Kajol didn’t stop there. In the same interview, she casually revealed that she had turned down Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots — the blockbuster that later starred Kareena Kapoor Khan. Asked if she regrets skipping films that became hits, she replied with confidence, “It doesn’t take a blink for me to say no. I’ve done very well without them.” She added, “Jiska likha hota hai, usi ko milta hai.”
As Maa builds anticipation with its Shaitaan Universe link and intense trailer, Kajol’s honesty and clarity are just as compelling as her on-screen performance.
